April is probably one of the most friendly people I’ve met. I felt like we talked forever at their engagement session (which I would link you to but I’m behind on my blogging. Lol). I was really excited when they wanted me to be their wedding photographer!

They were married at Amis Mill in Rogersville, Tennessee in August. I’m glad to say that I did not melt that day. It was surprisingly cool for a Tennessee August which means it was about 85 degrees. I’m proud to say that one of her images of her dress is probably one of my all time favorite wedding dress images. I smile every time I look at it. See if you can figure out which one it is ūüôā

I’ll leave you alone now so you can check out the images of their day.

xx

These photos were actually taken back in June this year. It’s my brother and his wife, April. I had this fun idea of doing an anniversary session for them. April could still fit in her wedding dress so I contacted All About Designs Cakes by Lori Smith about making a cake. She not only made one amazing cake but she made us TWO. Her cakes are super amazing. Since I found her, I use her for every cake occasion. I even make up cake occasions because sometimes a girl just needs some tasty cake ūüėČ The bouquets and flowers on the cakes were by Michael Trenholm Floral Designs and they were fabulous. I shot a wedding last year where he designed the bouquet and it had hen and chicks in it. I thought that was the coolest. We done the session on my parents’ farm, Cave Hill Farm. If you’re one of my regular clients, you’ve probably had at least one session here because it’s amazing. Most of my boudoir sessions are actually taken in this exact spot. It’s such a pretty little cove. The cake stands are from my parents etsy store, Cave Hill Designs. They make some seriously cool stuff like lemonade stands and signs for your weddings. Check them out. If you’re local, you can pick up your products from them and save yourself some shipping!

It actually rained ALL DAY the day of this session. I didn’t think we were going to be able to do it. Luckily, the rain decided to stop right before we went to set up. My friends, Nikki and Melanie, came to help set up. They worked for free cake. It’s one of the reasons we are friends. We will work for food. Haha!

April was really excited for a few of the photos because she got photos from our session that she didn’t get on her wedding day. I’m really glad I could get her some pretty dress and ring shots.

As you may remember, I decided to discontinue all day mini sessions this year. I started to feel like they didn’t fit into my business plan. I am still not offering them at this time and I’m not sure that I will ever bring them back. With that being said, I’ve been contacted by soooooooo many people about my fall mini session this year. I know a lot of you guys have used those photos in your Christmas cards in the past and were disappointed that I wasn’t going to offer them this year. So this is what I decided to do… I’m offering my normal sessions (the 30 minute and the 60 minute) at a discount. I had a set number in my head that I would take at this price and once they were booked that was it. That happened this past weekend. I decided I would change a couple of things around in my calendar that way I can offer just a few more ūüėČ So if you want to book one of my sessions at a discounted price this October, you need to contact me ASAP. I won’t be adding any more discounted sessions. Once these are gone, I will only have sessions available at my normal price and I will NOT have any more openings in October. I’m already booked solid with weddings <3

Amy and Johnny were married in Rogersville, Tennessee in the backyard of Amy’s¬†father’s house.¬†It was a wonderful bohemian wedding. All of the plates and glasses were mismatched¬†and looked great. In lieu of wedding gifts, Amy asked her friends to bring a dish that were great at making so the food choices were excellent.

Amy really made her wedding her own and¬†it was fantastic. As she was walking down the aisle, she proclaimed that everyone didn’t have to be so quiet because it wasn’t a funeral and we should be having fun. It was fantastic and really set the tone for the rest of the wedding day. During the ceremony, Amy stopped the service to tell everyone about her wedding band belonging to her great-grandmother and then Johnny surprised her with a family pearl ring. It was so sweet.

They are such a fun, laid back couple. It was a real pleasure getting to photograph their special day.

Nicci and Jeremy were married at The Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tennessee. It was a hot, rainy day in Tennessee. The ceremony took place on the patio of the club. It had rained all day but by the time the ceremony rolled around, the rain stopped. I love how the sky looks during their ceremony photos. Very dramatic.

We actually shot Jeremy and his groomsmen’s photos in the rain. We had to search around for a covered area and finally found a spot. I love how you can see rain drops in some of their photos.

Nicci and Jeremy had a lot of fun together during their shoot. I love how they wanted to add a bit of their personality in their photos at the end.

Enjoy their photos.
